DORIS BABB
A memorial service for White Salmon resident Doris A.
Babb will be held Friday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m., at United Methodist Church
in White Salmon. A private interment will precede the service.
Mrs. Babb died Aug. 8 at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon,
at the age of 71. She was born Aug. 20, 1916 in Tobias, Neb. An obituary
of Mrs. Babb will be published in next week's edition of the Enterprise.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society, Skyline Foundation or the United Methodist Memorial Fund.

DORIS M. BABB
Memorial services were held for Doris Margaret Babb at
the United Methodist Church in White Salmon at 2 p.m. on Friday. Doris passed
away Aug. 8 at Skyline Hospital.
Mrs. Babb was born to George C. and Lela Acker on Aug.
20, 1916, in Tobias, Neb. She graduated from high school in 1933 at Exeter,
Neb. She worked in her brother's shoe store in Fairbury, Neb., and later
in Columbus, Neb., where she met her future husband, Marion. The couple was
married in Newport News, Va., on January 29, 1944.
Mrs. Babb lived with her husband near Fort Eustis, Va.,
and later near Camp Stewart, Ga.. While he was overseas, she lived with her
parents in Yakima where she worked at Hanford and later for the Welfare
Department. After World War II, the couple lived in Zillah from 1946 to 1951;
in 1951 they moved to White Salmon.
Mrs. Babb was an active member of the United Methodist
Church, Order of Eastern Star, P.E.O and at one time the Federated Woman's
Club. She retired from the White Salmon Middle School in 1978 after 14 years
of service.
Mrs. Babb is survived by her husband Marion C.; sons
Bruce of Battle Ground, and Geoffrey of Babson Park, Fla.; daughters Nancy
Brummel of White Salmon and Susan Combs of Junction City, Ore.; one brother,
Richard Acker of Fairbury, Neb.; two sisters Isabelle August of Wichita,
Kan., and Betty Toelle of Quadra Island, B.C.; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist
Church, American Cancer Society or the Skyline Hospital Foundation.
