DAVID WEBBERLEY
David A. Webberley of Trout Lake, died Oct. 3, 2007, with his loved ones
surrounding him. He was born Aug. 22, 1963, in Vancouver, to Duane and Lila
Webberley.
Mr. Webberley was full of love for his family and his
treasures. He approached life with childlike enthusiasm that he shared with all
he came in contact with. He lived his entire life in the valley where he filled
his time with collecting and repairing bicycles, small engines, and electronic
appliances. He enjoyed riding snowmobiles and the friendships that were built
among the other riders. He could be seen about the valley riding his bicycle or
mowing a friend's lawn on his John Deere tractor.
Mr. Webberly fought a valiant battle against a rare
form of cancer since 2004. He was part of a study at University of Washington
Medical Center and Celilo
Cancer Center in The Dalles, to help further the research and treatment for
sarcoma. He amazed his doctors with his spirit, courage and strength.
He attended Trout Lake School and participated in the
Trout Lake Mountaineers 4-H Club where he showed animals in the dairy project.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Edgar and
Edith Webberley, and Osborn Slocum.
Mr. Webberly is survived by his parents Duane and Lila
Webberley, brothers and sisters, D. Tom Webberley, Bend, Ore., Diana Schmid,
Moses Lake, Dale Webberley, Trout Lake, Deborah Ortega, Moses Lake and Daniel
Webberley, Trout Lake; grandmother Manda Slocum, Trout Lake; and 12 nieces and
nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 12,
2007, at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Trout Lake followed by interment
at the Trout Lake Cemetery. All are invited to a reception at the Trout Lake
Grange after the graveside service.
Gardner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
