DENVER GREEN

     Denver Green, 82, a resident of Dallesport for the past 25 years, died at the local hospital on Sunday.
     He was born Jan. 29, 1907 in Vader, Wash. to Josepheus C. and Louisa (Lytle) Green.
     He was an iron worker, starting at the age of 16. During his life he worked on The Dalles Dam and power house, John Day Dam and other construction projects throughout the U.S.
     He was a member of Iron Workers Local No. 29, Glen Canyon Masonic Lodge No. 59, AF & AM, and was a deacon at the Dallesport Baptist Church. He married Betty Knapp in Peoria, Ill. in 1951.
     Survivors include his wife, Betty, Dallesport; a son, Denver R., Peoria; four daughters, Betty Claver, Mesa, Ariz.; Alma Swaim, Apache Junction, Ariz.; Cathy Watts, Kell. Ill.; and Cheryl Knorr, Spokane, Wash.; four brothers, Ray in Arkansas, Hayes and Donald, both in Indiana, and Richard, in Arizona; three sisters, Helen Hanson and Beatrice Alley, both in Indiana and Ethel Rowe, in Florida; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
     Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Dallesport Baptist Church with Pastor Glen Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyle Cemetery.
     Viewing at Smith Calloway Chapel will be from 9 to 5 on Tuesday and from 7 to 9 on Tuesday night.

     Denver Green, 82, died Nov. 12 at the local hospital. He was a resident of Dallesport of the past 25 years.
     Born Jan. 29, 1907, Mr. Green was an ironworker since the age of 16. He worked on The Dalles Dam, the John Day Dam and the power house at The Dalles Dam, He and his wife, Betty, were married in Peoria, Ill., in 1951. He was a member of the local Ironworkers #29, Glen Canyon Masonic Lodge #59, AF&AM and was a deacon at the Dallesport Baptist Church.
     He is survivored by his wife, Betty, of Dallesport; a son, Denver R. of Peoria; daughters, Betty Claver of Mesa, Ariz., Alma Swaim of Apache Junction, Ariz., Cathy Watts of Kell. Ill., Cheryl Knorr of Spokane, Wash.; brothers, Ray, Hayes, Donald and Richard; sisters, Helen Hanson, Ethel Rowe and Batrice Alley; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
     Funeral services were held at Dallesport Baptist Church on Nov. 15, followed by burial at Lyle Cemetery. Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
