DOLLIE VERMEIRE
Dollie E. Vermeire, a longtime White Salmon resident,
died March 3, 1981, at her home, at the age of 81.
Mrs. Vermeire was born May 17, 1909, in Beaverton, Ore.,
to Laura M. Ingalls and Charles E. Walker. She moved to White Salmon as a
child, marring Henry Vermeire in 1926. She lived here the rest of her life.
She attended Pinecrest Church of the Nazarene. She loved to sew, crochet
and quilt. She loved flowers and her yard.
Mrs. Vermeire is survived by her children, Henry, Ed,
Mae Gilmer and Pearl Van Huasen, all of White Salmon, Josephine Killaby and
Alice Anderson, both of Lacy, Rose Grove and Jean Manning of Underwood, and
Dorothy Hagain of Raymond; and brothers, Bud Walker, Carl Walker and Melvin
(Buster) Walker, all of White Salmon; sisters Myrtle Nichols, White Salmon,
and Ruth Selby, Sweet Hme, Ore.; 32 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren
and four great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Henry, in 1982.
Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pinecrest
Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Bud Ledbetter officiating. Interment was
at White Salmon Cemetery.
Contributions may be given in to the Pinecrest Church
of the Nazarene.
