DELBERT FREEMAN DUKE
A private family service was held Sunday, Jan. 27, for
Delbert Freeman Duke, 68. Another service will be held this Saturday, Feb.
2, at the Mt. Adams Baptist Church, beginning at 11 a.m.
The family service included a parable about a seed dying
and growing into a beautiful flower to explain the passage of death to 24
grandchildren. Each family member then presented a flower. Mr. Duke was then
taken to the Trout Lake Cemetery, where the service concluded with singing
and prayer. Mr. Duke's grandson, Jesse Pearson, played "Taps" on the trumpet.
Mr. Duke is survived by his wife, Bernice W. Duke; daughter
and son-in-law Laura and Monte Pearson; sons and daughter-in-law, Dee and
Patty Duke; Cliff and Kathy Duke; Matt and Annie Duke, and Jeff and Becki
Duke; and 24 grandchildren.
