Darrell Wayne Jermann, four years of age, was run over by a truck at the mill near Glenwood Friday a week ago, and instantly crushed to death. The remains were brought to Goldendale by Merle W. Chapman, and prepared for burial, which occurred at Glenwood, Monday this week. The boy had been repeatedly warned against riding on the truck, and in this instance jumped on the truck which had a heavy load of logs. The boy fell and a rear wheel passed over his head, says the Goldendale Sentinel.

"Glenwood News"

One of the saddest accidents happened here at the Mt. Adams Lumber Co. mill Friday about five o'clock, May 20th, when little five year old Wayne Jermann was run over by a truck, driven by Robert Wellenbrock. The boy tried to climb on the load and must have slipped. Robert was not aware of what the boy was doing. The truck run over the boy's head causing instant death. Funeral services were held at the church on Monday, May 23rd, conducted by Rev. Grant Merchant, with interment in the grange cemetery. The mother and Mr. Wellenbrock are both in very serious condition at this writing. The Jermanns came here last fall from Montana and have the deepest sympathy of the community, in this the saddest hour of their life.
