LOGGER METED SUDDEN DEATH
Delbert Joe McClain, 62, was killed instantly at the
headquarters of Buck Creek where he and his son Jim were logging together.
The accident occurred at about 1 p.m., Monday, June 15. Word of Mr. McClain's
death was telephoned to Gardner's Funeral home from the Ted Lehmann resident
on Underwood Heights, but the accident had no connection with the Lehmann
operation.
The McClain's were dragging a log which looked onto a
snag, the top of which snapped out and struck the older man above the left
ear. Death from skull fractures and brain concussion was instantaneous.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June
26 at Gardner's Funeral chapel. Interment will be in the IOOF cemetery.
