OBITUARY
Daniel Peter Seitzinger, who succumbed at the family
home in Goldendale on Saturday, April 17, 1926, at the age of 76 years and
4 months, was born on a farm in Cedar county, Iowa, Dec. 17, 1849.
His parents, Edward Seitsinger and Mary (Ditzer) Seitsinger,
were Pennsylvania Dutch stock, and moved from Schuykill county, Pa., to Iowa
in the early forties. His father settled on a homestead and for many years
was a United States mail carrier, his death occurring while carrying the
mail on his route.
The death of his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Seitsinger,
occurred just four months to a day prior to his demise.
Mr. Seitsinger was married at Waterloo, Iowa, Sept. 2,
1880, and came to the Klickitat Valley in 1898, purchasing farm lands in
the Crofton Prairie neighborhood. About ten years ago he gave up active farm
work and came to Goldendale to reside. In his youth he united with the Lutheran
Church.
The following children survive: Ernest Seitsinger, member
Portland, Ore., police department; Earl Seitsinger, farmer, Goldendale; Mrs.
Bertha Brazleton, Goldendale. One brother and two sisters survive as follows:
Louis Seitsinger, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Elizabeth Dorman, Buchanan, Iowa;
Mrs. Sarah Bear, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
