MRS. E.L. EWING

     The funeral services of Mrs. Elvire Lee Ewing were conducted form the church at Lyle, Washington, Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Rev. Alfred E. Derby of White Salmon conducted the service. The church was crowded with friends of the deceased. The choir sang three numbers. The floral tributes were beautiful and of great number.
     Services at the grave side were conducted by the Grange, Mr. G.A. Freeman acted as Master and Rev. Derby as Chaplain. The service was very impressive and a large number were present.
     Mrs. Elvira Lee Ewing was born Dec. 5, 1875 at Canby, Oregon and was married to her husband Mr. L.D. Ewing in the year 1905, making their home in Lyle until her death. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Mrs. L.D. Ewing; one son, Nelson Lee; three sisters, Mrs. Addie Shull, Mrs. Elsie Rider and Mrs. Ora Catley; one brother, Warren Lee, of Canby, Oregon.
     Mrs. Ewing was a member of one of the old pioneer families of Oregon and has had many friends. She was a Past Master of Columbia Grange No. 87.

     Mrs. L.D. Ewing passed away at her home Monday night. Their many friends extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
