ELIZABETH SKELTON
Elizabeth Amanda Skelton, a former resident of White
Salmon, died on Nov. 22, in Modesto, Calif., where she had been living for
the past 11 years.
She was born on April 21, 1914, in Oklahoma, to Wallace
and Nellie (Leonard) Allen. She moved to Oregon City in the early 1930s,
then to the White Salmon area in the 1940s. She married Walter Ross Skelton,
who preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Skelton worked for many years in the fruit industry,
working as a fruit grader for Underwood Fruit. She loved to sew and cook,
and also enjoyed camping.
A private burial at the White Salmon Cemetery will be
held, with a memorial service planned for spring 2001.
