REV. E.B. JOHNSON PASSES AT HIS HOME
KLICKITAT HEIGHTS, Jan. 14: -- The Klickitat Heights
people have been saddened by the passing of one more from their neighborhood.
Rev. E.B. Johnson who passed away last Saturday afternoon. The many neighbors
and friends extend their heartfelt sympathy to this bereaved family who is
highly esteemed by all.
The large family who live at various distances were
immediately notified and most of them have arrived or are on their way.
Arrangements for the funeral are made.
The services were be held at Lyle Tuesday afternoon.

REV. EDWARD B. JOHNSON
Rev. Edward B. Johnson, of Klickitat Heights, was born
on Oakland, Nebraska, December 13, 1936, at the age of 62 years.
Funeral services were conducted by Gardner's Funeral
Service of this city, and interment was in the Balch Cemetery, Lyle, Washington.

43 Year's Service Concluded By Minister; Home At Klickitat Heights

In conclusion of a nine year illness from failing health, Edward Benjamin Johnson, resident of Klickitat county for the past thirteen years, passed away at his home in Klickitat Heights, January 11. Services were held last Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. C.E. Hanes, Baptist minister of Goldendale, officiating. Interment followed in the Balch Cemetery.
OBITUARY

Reverend E.B. Johnson was born December 23, 1873, at
Oakland, Nebraska. Upon completion of grade and high school he attended the
Grand Island College in Nebraska and later graduated from the Moody Bible
Institute in Chicago. At the age of 19 he was
ordained a Minister in the Baptist Church in which he served faithfully for
43 years as pastor circuit rider minister until his health failed nine years
ago, forcing retirement.
Reverend Johnson held pastorates in eleven states and
Saskatchewan, Canada, coming to Klickitat county 13 years ago to serve in
a ministerial capacity for four years.
He passed away at 1:15 p.m. January 11, 1936, at his
home on Klickitat Heights at the age of 63 years, 19 days, after an illness
of nine years. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, twelve children, Cecil
and Everett of Alberta; Dean and Kenneth of Sheridan, Wyoming; Mrs. Oarel
Elder and Mrs. Leota Crane of Pendleton; Gordon Brock of the Philippine Islands;
Iessmine, who is teaching near Burns, Oregon; Myrtle, Florence and Lois who
live in Bingen, and Iris.
Four brothers, Theodore Elrach, of Appleton, Gustave
Elrach of Omaha, William Johnson of Sheridan, Wyoming, and F. Elranch of
Nebraska.
Three sisters, Mrs. C. Weazele of Los Angeles, Anna Guyer
of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Bernadine Johnson of Denver, Colorado.
Of Reverend Johnson it can truly be said, "He was a friend
to man, as he lived in a house by the side of the roads."

Funeral services were held at the Lyle Church Jan. 15, Rev. C.E. Hanes, pastor of the Baptist church in Goldendale officiating, for Edward Benjamin Johnson, who died at his home on Klickitat Heights January 11. Mr. Johnson had been a clergyman in the Baptist church. Surviving are his widow, Pearl; seven daughters, Myrtle, teaching school in Bingen; Lois, Florence and Iris at home; Jessemine, teaching in Burns, Ore., Hazel and Mrs. Leota Crane of Pendleton, Ore.; and three sons, Kenneth of Dean, Wyoming, and Everett and Cecil of Leathbridge, Canada.
