EMMA C. COATE

Funeral for Emma C. Coate, an 86 year-old Portland homemaker, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes. Concluding service and interment will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Trout Lake Cemetery, Trout Lake, Wash. Mrs. Coate, who resided at 6333 SE Pine Court, was born Jan. 28, 1888, in Emporia, Kan., and came to Portland as a child. She died Friday in a nursing home. Survivors include her husband, James Harvey; a son, Charles D. Portland; daughters, Mrs. Lucille Brown, Seaside, and Miss Shirley Coate, Portland; sisters, Mrs. George Rotegard and Mrs. John F. Otto, both of Portland; a brother, Donald C. Cowan, Portland, and four grandsons.
