DEATH CLAIMS ELNA CAVEN
Elna Emma Caven was born at Fossil, Ore., May 14, 1904.
Came with her parents to White Salmon at the age of three years. At the age
of six she entered the grade school of this city and graduated from high
school with the class of 1923.
She worked at the local telephone office for about eighteen
months and later worked for the Gladden Motor Co., where she became ill.
She was a member of the White Salmon Circle, Women of
Woodcraft and also Good Will Rebekah lodge. She was converted at the age
of nine years and baptized and united with the First Baptist church of White
Salmon. She was a firm believer in the Lord and Savior whom she found more
and more precious as she lay on her death bed.
Elna was loved by all who knew her. Her sunny disposition
will be missed by regular guests at the Washington Hotel and by friends and
loved ones who were left behind.
Elna Caven died at the Washington Hotel on May 19th,
1925, at the age of 21 years and 5 days. Was buried at the Odd Fellows cemetery.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Thursday, 11 o'clock May
21.
