EARL FRANKLIN ADAMS
Earl Franklin Adams, this son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Adams,
was born six miles northwest of Goldendale on Sept. 12, 1911, and passed
away at St. Vincents hospital, Portland, Oregon, February 25, 1948, at the
age of 36 years and six months.
He moved with his parents to Klickitat in 1919 and from
there to Vancouver and 1922.
He served in the armed forces of the United States for
seven months and was discharged for physical disability, in January 1943.
Since that time he has made his home in Vancouver.
Earl was never married. He worked in the Vancouver plywood
plant and was a member of the American Legion. |
He leaves his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Adams,
of Goldendale; one sister, Mrs. Ruth C. Miller, of Olympia; four brothers,
Lee E. Adams, of Martinez, Calif., Harvey and Wesley Adams, of Shelton, and
Hugh Adams, a student at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles; a grand-mother,
Mrs. Ruth E. Jackson, of Goldendale, and a host of relatives and friends.
A sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held from the Phillips funeral
home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Interment was in the Spring Creek
Cemetery. Louis Leidl Post, American Legion, conducted the military rites.

DEATH CLAIMS EARL F. ADAMS, WAR II VETERAN
Last rites for Earl Franklin Adams, World War II veteran,
were held last Saturday afternoon, February 28, at 2:30 in the Phillips funeral
home, with Rev. Walter Smith of the Goldendale Baptist Church, conducting.
Military burial services were given by Louis Leidl Post, American Legion,
at the grave in the Spring Creek Cemetery.
The deceased, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Adams, of Goldendale,
passed away in St. Vincent hospital, Portland, last Wednesday, February 25
at the age of 36½ years. He had been a resident of Vancouver since 1922
and was employed with the Vancouver Plywood plant.
He served in the armed forces for seven months during
the war and was discharged for physical disability. Three of his brothers
also were in the armed forces.
He was born in the Goldendale vicinity and lived here
until 1919, when he moved with his parents to Klickitat. From there he went
to Vancouver three years later.
He leaves the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Adams, of Goldendale,
four brothers, Lee E. Adams, of Martinez, California, Harvey and Wesley Adams,
of Shelton, and Hugh Adams, student in the Bible Institute, Los Angeles;
his grandmother, Mrs. Ruth E. Jackson, of Goldendale, and a host of other
relatives and friends.
