EMMITT HATCHER
Emmitt Franklin Hatcher died at his home in White Salmon
on Feb. 10, 1996, at the age of 83.
Mr. Hatcher was born Aug.22, 1912, in Caddo, OkIa., to
Annabelle (Pratt) and James Hatcher. He grew up in Randlelt, Okla., on the
Oklahoma/Texas border. He married Geneva L. Alford in Grandfield, Okla on
July 21, 1934. He farmed in that area until moving to California in 1946.
He attended the same church, the Kerman Freewill Baptist church for over
30 years. He moved to White Salmon in 1979 for health reasons. He was a member
of the Mt. Adams Baptist Church in Trout Lake. He raised registered Greyhounds
for years.
Mr. Hatcher is survived by his wife, Geneva, White Salmon;
daughters Geneva Louise Wakefield, Fresno, Calif., Ruth Ellen Howard, Eagle
Creek, Ore., Kathleen Blankenship, Madera, Calif., and Edna L. Robison, White
Salmon; brother Bennett Hatcher, Kerman, Calif.; SiSter Lizzie Stiggins,
Chowchilla, Calif.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Hatcher were held Feb. 13, 1996, at
1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church in White Salmon with Pastor Dick Steward and
Pastor Ron Holcomb officiating. Interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital,
Portland.
Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home in
White Salmon.
