HOCTOR
Ethel G. Hoctor passed away in Goldendale, Feb. 8, 1981.
She was born in Goldendale Jan. 17, 1900 to William L. and Dora Jane Simms
Harris.
Mrs. Hoctor completed all 12 years of schooling at the
No. 12 school, southeast of Goldendale. She married John E. Hoctor on her
21st birthday in what is now the Holy Trinity Church.
She was an honorary lifetime member of the Washington
Wool Grower's Auxiliary having served as state secretary treasurer. In the
1977, she received her Golden Sheaf pin for 50 years of membership in the
Goldendale Grange. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Altar Society
for many years and was organist at the church.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, June
Harbour of Pullman; son, Edward, of Goldendale; 10 grandchildren and six
great-grand children; sister, Mary Van Hoy of Goldendale and many other relatives
and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 12 at Holy
Trinity Church with Father Seamus Kerr officiating and Father Martin Skeehan
assisting. Pallbearers were her six grandsons, Bill and Joe Harbour of Pullman,
Charles Harbour of Auburn, John Harbour of San Francisco and Larry and Gary
Hoctor of Goldendale. Interment was at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
