"Trout Lake News"

     TROUT LAKE, July 15, (Special) -- The sad news that Mr. Ernest Patrick passed away Wednesday morning was received here. He had been in Portland since Saturday evening under the care of a specialist. Saturday afternoon he was picking cherries at his place when a limb broke and he fell, hitting his head on a cement walk. The community wishes to extend their sympathy to the family.

     Ernest Patrick fell from a ladder Saturday while picking cherries and struck his head on the sidewalk. He was taken to White Salmon hospital, then to Hood River, then rushed to Portland where two or three operations were performed. At last report was in a serious condition.

     The community was saddended by the death of Ernest Patrick in the Good Samaritan hospital in Portland last Wednesday. Mr. Patrick's death was due to a fall in the yard of his valley home the week before. Services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the church. Interment was made in the Trout Lake cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Patrick. Out of town people in the valley for Mr. Patrick's funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Moore, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Tim McGetchie, all of Gladstone, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brown, of Wenatchee, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cuttings.
