ELLIS HOWARD ROGERS

     Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 11, for Ellis Howard Rogers, former superintendent of the White Salmon schools and resident of Trout Lake. He was born October 16, 1870, in Illinois, and died June 10, 1941, at Chico, California, where he has been residing for the past few years. His wife, Nettie Jane, preceded him in death.
     Ellis Rogers was the principle of the Lincoln high school in Tacoma before coming to White Salmon, where he was Superintendent for the local schools in the 1920's. He lived for several years on a farm at Trout Lake and was a member of the Mason lodge for many years.
     His survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Grace Hamilton, of Chico, California, and Mabel Anderson, of Olympia, Washington; and one son, George D. Rogers, of Antone, Ore.
     The services were held at the Anderson Funeral chapel in Hood River, with Rev. John A. Linn, of the Methodist Episcopal church, of Hood River, officiating. Interment was at the I.O.O.F cemetery in White Salmon.
