IRVIN HUNTER

     Irvin Hunter,80, of The Dalles, died March 26, 2005, in The Dalles.
     He was born Aug. 7, 1924, in The Dalles, to Ralph and Ethel Hunter. He grew up on a farm near Spring Creek and graduated from Goldendale High School. Hunter married Freda Wohl in Anacortes on April 7, 1956. He worked in Goldendale, at Pine Box Factory, from 1945 to 1962, then found work in Seattle, until 1966. He also worked for the S P &S Railroad in Wishram for four years, prior to becoming the caretaker for the Mt. View Cemetery in Goldendale. He held that job until his retirement in 1992.
     He and Freda moved to The Dalles in 2000.
     Hunter was a part of the world-wide fellowship of the new testament Christians and enjoyed gardening.
     He was preceded in death by a son, Joe, who died in 1999.
     Survivors include his wife Freda, of The Dalles; six grandchildren and two sisters, Peggy Storkel, of Goldendale, and Lavona Fraychineaud of Gig Harbor.
     Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 in the chapel of Erdman Funeral Home with interment in the family plot at Spring Creek Cemetery.
