EARL WOOLERY
75-year-old Earl Jacob Woolery died at his home in
Goldendale on June 8, 2006. He was born on August 9, 1930 to Frances Susanne
(Mills) and Earl Pearson Woolery in Kansas City, Mo. His father worked at the
Kansas City Zoo, and Mr. Woolery was literally born in the zoo, in a cabin on
the premises.
Mr. Woolery served in the United States Army in Korea
from 1950 to 1953. After his discharge from the military, he worked various
jobs, mostly as a truck driver. He and his wife, Rose Ann (Troh) Woolery, moved
from California to Glenwood in the 1970s. Mr. Woolery worked as a log truck
driver for 16 years before moving to Hermiston, Ore., where he worked as a
manager for a freight company. They retired to Goldendale 11 years ago. Mr.
Woolery worked as a volunteer for the Goldendale Senior Center and started many
projects there.
Survivors
include his wife, Rose Anne, at home in Goldendale; mother Frances Woolery,
Tacoma; children Earl Woolery, Corsicana, Texas, Scott Ruell, Bullhead, Ariz.,
Derek Ruell, Hartford, Wisc., and Brian Woolery, Goldendale; brothers Dick
Woolery and Bus Woolery of Tacoma and Dean Woolery of Walla Walla; sister Sue
Binnie of Covina, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
sister Evelyn Murray and father Earl.
At his request, there will be no services. Memorial
contributions name may be made to the Goldendale Senior Center. Gardner Funeral
Home handled cremation arrangements.
