PIONEER OF TL DIES MAR. 1ST AT THE DALLES
Elizabeth Pfister was born in Germany on May 14th, 1885
and came to the United States of America September 23rd, 1907. She and her
husband, John, moved to the Trout Lake Valley in 1919, where they operated
a meat market in the valley for many years. Mr. Pfister passed away in 1955.
Mrs. Pfister expired at the Valley Vista Nursing Home
in The Dalles, Oregon on March 1st, where she had been a patient since November
1971.
She was a member of Trout Lake Grange No. 210, the Trout
Lake Women's Club and a Lutheran.
She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence
McCuistion of Trout Lake; one granddaughter, Mrs. Marvin Ripee of The Dalles,
Oregon, three grandchildren; one nephew, Gordon Shaw of Seaside, Or.; and
one sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Ross of Portland, Or.
Funeral services were held in Trout Lake Presbyterian
Church on Tuesday, March 7th at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lewis S. Abbott of
Portland, Oregon officiating. Burial was in the Trout Lake Cemetery. Casket
bearers were: Kenneth Schmid, William McCuistion, Charles Brown, Ronald
Hollenbeck, Elvan Robbins, and Jay Robbins.
