LENNY SCHALK

     Eldon Leonard Schalk Jr., died on Wednesday, July 2, 2003. He was 38 years old.
     Mr. Schalk was born in Astoria, Ore., on May 1, 1965, the son of Eldon and Sharon (Vosika) Schalk. He lived in Astoria, Seaside and then Knappa as a child, then moved to Underwood with his family in 1972. In 1984, he graduated from Columbia High School, where he was a standout athlete. On July 28, 1984, he married Kim Beckwith.
     Mr. Schalk worked for SDS Lumber Company until eight years ago, at which time he began working for Coca-Cola Enterprises in The Dalles, Ore., where he was district manager.
     He enjoyed golfing, elk hunting, hiking and working in his yard. He loved sports and had a lot of respect for other people. Above all, he was proud of his family and loved and respected them beyond measure.
     Survivors include wife, Kim, White Salmon; daughter Sharlene Schalk, White Salmon; son Eric Schalk, Killeen, Texas; parents Eldon and Sharon Schalk, Underwood; sister Judith Irene Bean, Vancouver; two nieces, one nephew and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by sister Lori on April 15, 1967 and grandson Kody Schalk.
     A memorial service for Mr. Schalk was held at Henkle Middle School in White Salmon on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at 4 p.m., with a reception following in the Henkle Middle School small gym.
     Memorials may be made to a fund created in Mr. Schalk's name, in care of Gardner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 390, White Salmon, Wash. 98672.

     Survivors include his wife, Kim, White Salmon; daughter, Sharlene Schalk, White Salmon; son, Eric Schalk, Killeen, Texas; his parents, Eldon and Sharon Schalk, Underwood; a sister, Judith Irene Bean, Vancouver; two nieces, one nephew and many friends.
     He was preceded in death by a sister, Lori, on April 15, 1967, and a grandson, Kody Schalk.
     A memorial service will be held at Gardner Chapel in White Salmon on Tuesday, July 8, at 4 p.m. with a reception to follow at Mt. Adams Elks Lodge.
     Memorials may be made to a fund to be created in his name in care of Gardner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 390, White Salmon, Wash., 98672.

     He was preceded in death by his sister Lori and grandson Kody Schalk.
     A memorial service was held at Henkle Middle School in White Salmon on Tuesday, July 8 with a reception following at the Henkle Middle School small gym.
     In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to a memorial fund to be created in Mr. Schalk's name, in care of Gardner Funeral Home who was in charge of the arrangements, at P.O. Box 390, White Salmon, Wash. 98672.

     Eldon Leonard "Lenny" Schalk Jr., 38, of White Salmon, died July 2, 2003.
     He was born May 1, 1965 in Astoria, Ore. to Eldon and Sharon (Vosika) Schalk. Lenny lived in Astoria, Seaside and then Knappa as a child, then moved to Underwood with his family in 1972.

     He enjoyed golfing, elk hunting, hiking and working in his yard. He loved sports and had a lot of respect for other people.
     His sister, Lor, and a grandson, Kody Schalk, preceded him in death.
     Survivors include wife, Kim, and daughter Sharlene Schalk, both of White Salmon; one son Eric Schalk, of Killeen, Texas; parents Eldon and Sharon Schalk of Underwood; one sister, Judith Irene Bean, of Vancouver; two nieces, one nephew and many friends.
