ELEANOR CARVER
Eleanor M. Carver, a resident of Dufur, Ore., died Nov.
9, 1996, at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Ore., at the age of
74.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 16, 1996, at 1 p.m.
at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Tom Dahlquist officiating.
A full obituary for Mrs. Carver will appear in next week's
paper.

ELEANOR CARVER
Eleanor M. Carver, a Dufur, Ore. resident, died Nov.
9, 1996, at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Ore., at the age of
74.
Mrs. Carver was born Dec.16, 1921, in Cul de Sac, Idaho,
to Ruby Viola (Walker) and Charles Oliver Myers. She grew up mostly in Toppenish.
She married Jerome Faa in 1939 and they moved to Alaska in 1949. She was
the postmaster there until approximately 1965. The couple then moved to
Terrebonne, Ore., where Mr. Carver died in 1966.
She then moved back to Alaska, where she married Burton
Carver in 1967. They went back and forth from Alaska to Arizona for many
years before settling in Dufur aproximately five years ago. Mr. Carver preceded
her in death in September 1996.
She was a member of the Homemaker's Club in Soldatna,
Alaska. She cut and polished rocks for jewelry and loved to paint.
Mrs. Carver is survived by her sons Thomas E. Faa, Healy,
Alaska, and Eugene J. Faa, Salem, Ore.; daughters Judy Lexa, White Salmon,
and Jocele Archer, Wamic, Ore.; stepson Sky Carver, Soldatna, Alaska;
stepdaughter Dawn Powers, Pukahani, Hawaii; sisters Norma Olney, Toppenish,
Clarice "Burnie" Allen, Kennewick, and Gayle White, Portland, Ore.; and 15
grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carver were held Nov.16, 1996,
at 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon, with Rev. Tom Dahlquist
officiating. Interment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Myers-Walker Family
Association, 143 Acme Rd., White Salmon.
