     Word was received here that Mrs. Esther Devine, mother of Mrs. William White, passed away at her home in Portland Thursday. Mrs. White has spent the last few weeks with her mother, who has been seriously ill. Funeral services were held in the Lyle church Monday afternoon with interment in the Lyle Balch Cemetery. Mrs. Devine is a former long-time resident of Lyle before moving to Portland about 12 years ago. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. William White of Lyle, Mrs. Edward Nichols of Seattle and Mrs. Edward Wood of Massena, New York.
