FINAL RITES HELD OCT 6 FOR MRS. EDNA MARY HAYES
Funeral services were held for Edna Mary Hayes, a former
resident of the B.Z. Corner community. Services were Wednesday, October 6th,
11 a.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Waln officiating.
Interment was at the White Salmon Cemetery.
Mrs. Hayes was born March 23rd, 1888 in Knoxville, Iowa,
the daughter of Edith and Harvey Schilling. Her husband, Don Orval Hayes,
passed away in January of 1942. She had lived at Eureka, California the past
8 months, having moved there from Portland.
Surviving are a son, Russell Hayes of White Thorn,
California; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Worley of Portland, Oregon; five sisters:
Mrs. Albert Riddell of Central Point, Oregon; Mrs. A. Zoutie of Caronia,
California; Mrs. Florence Bane of Knoxville, Iowa and Mrs. William Kuyper
of Reed Springs, Mo.; Elsie of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother: Lory J. Schilling
of Grass Valley, California; four grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers: Pat Crews, Laurence Meyers, John Sitherwood,
Roy Janes, Fred Manahan, James Wise.
