ELIZABETH HETTRICK
Elizabeth Mae Hettrick died in Hood River, Ore., on Oct.
4, 2003. She was 80 years old.
She was born on March 15, 1923, in Appleton, of Parley
and Annie (Strutt) Akerill. She attended school in Glenwood, graduating in
1941. On May 18, 1945, she married George Hettrick at her parents' home in
Glenwood. Mrs. Hettrick never left Glenwood until she moved to the Hood River
Care Center in 1995.
She was past president of the Women's Club in which she
was very active, and also a member of the Homemaker's Club. She enjoyed
crocheting, beading and flower gardening. She enjoyed baking and making
candy.
Mrs. Hettrick is survived by her daughters Lillian Arends,
The Dalles, Ore., and Barbara Mills, Goldendale; five grand-children and
seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George,
sister Lucille Ward, and brothers Harry, Merle and Milton Akerill.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday,
Oct. 10, 2003, at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood.

Elizabeth Mae Hettrick, 80, a former Glenwood resident,
Oct. 4, 2003.
She was born March 15, 1923, in Appleton to Parley and

in Glenwood. Elizabeth never left Glenwood until she moved to the Hood River

Elizabeth was past president of the Women's Club, in

Her husband, George, a sister, Lucille Ward, and brothers,
Harry, Merle and Milton Akerill, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Lillian Arends, of The
Dalles and Barbara Mills of Goldendale; five grand-children and seven
great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday,
Oct. 10 at Mt. Adams Cemetery in Glenwood. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Gardner Funeral Home, P.O.
Box 390, White Salmon, WA. 98672.
