DEATH SUMMONS ELWOOD M. PECK

     Christian Science funeral services were held at Gardner's Funeral Home at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, for Elwood Maxwell Peck, 86, who expired at Skyline hospital Friday, March 19. Odd Fellows were in charge of committal rites at the IOOF cemetery.
     Mr. Peck is survived by his wife Grace, of White Salmon; his son, Russell; and a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Atwell. A complete obituary will be published next week.
     Active pall bearers for Mr. Peck were George Kreps, Larry Semler, Al Lermo, Earl Dean, Walt Hunsaker, William Lauterbach and Bill Balsiger.
     Honorary pall bearers were Wm. Biesanz, Charles Mansfield, John Wyers, Wade Dean, Art Cox, Roy Heaman, Floyd Martin, Frank Hunsaker, Fred Balsiger and Ed Bartholomew.

ELWOOD M. PECK

     Christian Science Funeral Services for Elwood Maxwell Peck, 86, were held at Gardner's Funeral home, Tuesday, March 23. Goodwill Oddfellows Lodge No. 188 was in charge of committal rites at the IOOF cemetery.
     Mr. Peck was born in Geneva, Ohio, August 24, 1867 and moved to Roscommon, Michigan where he was married to Grace Simmons in 1893 and engaged in the lumbering business until 1899 when the Pecks and their two children, Mabel and Russell, moved to White Salmon.
     Here, during his active years, he followed the lumbering and fruit business. He served as Master of the Grange, Past Noble Grand of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and was a member of the BPOElks for the past ten years. For many years he was a member of the Congregational church.
     Mr. Peck, Steven Wnuk, E.E. Glader, Avery Hayes and Conrad Warneke were owners and operators of the Fruit Growers Union for several years. He was a stockholder in the Star Fruit Company, and director of the Gillette State Bank.
     Surviving him are his wife Grace; his son, Russell of Portland; and his daughter, Mrs. Mabel Attwell of Everett; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
