RITES HELD FOR EDNA RUTH BROWN
Memorial services were held Monday in Goldendale for
Edna Ruth Brown, who died last Friday at the age of 65 years, 4 months and
14 days.
Miss Brown was born December 6, 1896 in the Horseshoe
Bend area of Klickitat county, and had lived at White Salmon for a number
of years; for the past ten years she had made her home in Goldendale. She
had attended school in Horseshoe Bend and in Goldendale.
She was the daughter of Thomas B. and Mary Adams Brown,
early pioneers of this area. Edna's mother, Mary Adams Brown, came to Spring
Creek in 1873 at the age of nine.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph Brown; and her
sister, Mrs. Mina Winterstein, both of Goldendale; also two nephews, Byron
Brown of Seattle and Jack Winterstein of Goldendale. One sister, Ivy; preceded
her in death, in 1915.
Funeral services were conducted by Knosher Funeral Home with
Rev. M. B. Ketcham as officiating minister. Pall-bearers were Harry Wilson,
Harold Groves, Byron Brown, Kenneth Hill, Zenas Mattson, and Leo Moore. Interment
was in the Spring Creek cemetery.

SERVICES MONDAY AT GOLDENDALE; EDNA RUTH BROWN
Edna Ruth Brown was bron December 6, 1896 in Horseshoe
Bend, west of Centerville and passed away April 20, 1962 in the Klickitat
Valley Hospital.
She was the daughter of Thomas B. and Mary A. Brown,
early pioneers of the Goldendale area. Edna's mother, Mary Adams Brown, came
to Spring Creek, west of Goldendale in 1873 at the age of nine
years.
Edna attended grade school in Horseshoe Bend and high
school in Goldendale. She lived in White Salmon for a number of years; but
for the past ten years she had resided in Goldendale.
She loved animals and was interested in the Humane Society.
She liked her neighbors and did much to aid the shut-in friends.
One sister, Ivy; preceded her in death, in 1915.
She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Mina C.
Winterstein, and one brother, Ralph A. Brown, both of Goldendale; two nephews,
Byron Brown of Seattle and Jack Winterstein of Goldendale and a host of friends
and relatives.
Knosher Funeral Home had charege of arrangements and
Rev. M.B. Ketcham conducted the services.
Interment was in the Spring Creek cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Kenneth Hill, Harry Wilson, Zenas Mattson,
Harold Groves, Byron Brown, Leo Moore.
