MRS. ELMER, 65, SUCCUMBS HERE
Mrs. Henry H. Elmer, 65, of 2528 13th Street, a Monroe
resident for 37 years, died at 6:14 p.m. yesterday in St. Clair hospital.
She was admitted July 12 as a medical patient, following a stroke.
Mrs. Elmer, the former Ethel Gladys Green, daughter of
Edward J. and Orpha Crosby Green, was born at Durand, Ill., Oct. 12, 1895.
She attended school in Spring Grove Township. On Jan. 3, 1913 she and Henry
H. Elmer were married in Belvedere, Ill.
They lived in Brodhead for a year, in Duran for two years
and in Spring Grove Township for two years, moving then to Monroe.
Mrs. Elmer attended St. John's United Church of
Christ.
Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Darryl (Dorothy)
Camron, Route 1; six sons, Ralph, Rock City, Ill., Morris, Beloit, and Clarence,
Virgil, Loren and Curtis, all of Monroe; six sisters, Mrs. Wayne Douglas,
Glidden, Ia.; Mrs. Albert Badertscher, Brodhead; Mrs. Lee A. Phillips, Browntown;
Mrs. Esther Herheim, Brodhead; Mrs. Frank Calvert, Benton, and Mrs. Ed Condon,
Monroe, and 23 grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death; George Lee,
when he was three years old, and Rodney, in 1958.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Shriner-Neushwander
funeral home. Rev. Paul H. Ohm, pastor of St. John's, will officiate, with
burial in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after
2 p.m. tomorrow.
