HUSBAND-WIFE DIED FOUR DAYS APART
EPHRAIM THOMAS
Ephriam Thomas was born to Lieutenant Ephraim and Jessie Thomas in Secunderabad, India, December 12, 1880. When he was seven years old, his family returned to London, England. He was a Grenadier Guard of the Royal British Army and a veteran of the Boer War. He was a sailor, logger, shipyard worker and custodian at Lewis and Clark College until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Rozillah Stewart September 1, 1908 and they lived in Trout Lake and White Salmon until the 1940's. Mr. Thomas passed away Aug. 16, 1970 at Milwaukie Convalescent Home. Services were held August 19 at Kennelworth Presbyterian Church, Portland, Or., with interment at Trout Lake Cemetery, Trout Lake, Wa.

Funeral for Ephriam Thomas, 89, of 5112 SE 38th Place,
who died Sunday in a Milwaukie funeral home will be Wednesday at 10 a.m.
in Kenilworth Presbyterian Church.
Born in Secundrabad, India, Dec. 12, 1850, Mr. Thomas
had lived an adventurous life. He was a Royal British Army veteran of the
Boer War, a sailor, a logger and more recently, a shipyard worker. A resident
of Portland for the past 26 years, he had once been a custodian at Lewis
and Clark College.
Survivors include his wife, Rozillah; two sons, Walter
of Mill City, and Charles of Ruskin, B.C., Canada; three daughters: Mrs.
Jessie Adams of Portland, Mrs. Mabel Yankus of Mill City and Mrs. Violet
Donaldson of Issaquah, Wash. He also had a brother, Charles Thomas of San
Jose, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Violet Wookey of Australia; 17 grandchildren,
and 21 great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Trout-lake Cemetery.
