     The funeral of Mrs. Emma Kuhnhausen was held here on last Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the church. Rev. Fike conducted the sermon, Mrs. Holloway played the organ while Tressie Fellers and Bertha Babcock sang beautiful songs for the occasion. The pall bearers were Herbert and Frank Kuhnhausen, Osmer Kuhnhausen and three of Oliver Kuhnhausen's boys, Clarence, Ivan, and Carol. She was laid to rest in the Mt. Adams Grange Cemetery by the side of her husband, Herman, who passed away about six years ago. Undertakers from Vancouver were in charge. Mrs. Kuhnhausen was among the old timers here and like her husband will be missed very much by the many relatives and host of friends. Mrs. Kuhnhausen came to Portland from Germany when sixteen years old and after her marriage, had lived here for the most part of her life, but had purchased a little home at Vancouver where she made her home that past few years, passing away at the Vancouver hospital after a month's illness at the age of 68. Four children survive her, Robert, of Stanwood; Herman and Rose Surface, of Glenwood and Emma Fenske, from Moldridge, South Dakota. All arrived in time for the funeral. Other relatives from away also were present. August, of Portland, Oliver and the boys and daughters; others from St. Johns, Herbert from White Salmon. Among friends attending the funeral were Mrs. Della Hylton, Mr. Bert Dymond, Mrs. Ed Murray and many more. Sympathy is extended to the family who mourn her loss.

WOMAN, 70, DIES OF HEART ATTACK

     Mrs. Emma Kuhnhausen, 70, of Glenwood, died Monday morning of a heart attack as she prepared to leave a Vancouver hospital following a recent operation.
     A residetn of Glenwood for more than 30 years before her husband's death in 1935, Mrs. Kuhnhausen was in Vancouver for her health. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Rosa E. Surface and Hermand F., both of Glenwood; a son, Robert Stanwood, and a daughter, Emma, of Wisconsin.

EMMA TERESA KUHNHAUSEN

     In failing health for several years, Mrs. Emma Teresa Kuhnhausen, 68, of 3507 V st., died at her home yesterday morning.
     She had resided there since 1936, having come to Vancouver from Glenwood, Wash. where she had lived most of her life. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
     She is survived by two sons, Herman Kuhnhausen, Glenwood, and Robert Kuhnhausen, Arlington, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Fenske, Mowbridge, S.D., and Mrs. Rosa Surface, Glenwood; a sister, Mrs. Martha Reinmann, Portland; a brother and sister in Germany; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Presbyterian church in Glenwood with the Rev. B.J. Fike officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Adams cemetery.

     Word came Sunday noon of the death of Mrs. Emma Kuhnhausen from a heart attack in Vancouver. Her son, Herman F. and wife had gone to Vancouver Saturday to be with Mrs. Kuhnhausen as she came from the hospital where she had undergone an operation last month. Services are expected to be held here in mid-week, pending the arrival of a daughter, Emma, from the mid west. Four children survive Mrs. Kuhnhausen, Robert, of Stanwood; Herman F. and Mrs. Rosa F. Surface, of Glenwood; and daughter, Emma. Mrs. Kuhnhausen had made her home here for many years prior to moving to Vancouver following the death of her husband six years ago.
