EFFIE CHAMBERLAIN
Effie Viola Chamberlain, a former Lyle resident, died
June 23 in Ontario, Ore., at the age of 83.
Mrs. Chamberlain was born Nov. 27, 1897, in Woodburn,
Ore., to Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Clark. She lived in Lyle as a young woman and
moved to Washougal 60 years ago, where she was a homemaker. She was a member
of the Methodist Church, the Mt. Pleasant Grange and the Navy Mothers.
She is survived by three sons, Veryl Chamberlain of Grays
Harbor, Joseph Chamberlain of Vancouver and Richard Chamberlain of Vale,
Ore.; two daughters, Verdie Nelson of Mona and Edith Erickson of LaCenter;
two sisters, Stella Hathaway of Corvallis, Ore., and Alice Taylor of Drain,
Ore.; a brother, Everett Clark of Washougal; 23 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Chamberlain were held Monday
at Balch Cemetery in Lyle, with the Rev. Jerry Bower and James Nielsen
officiating.
