EVELYN HADDOCK
Evelyn Haddock died at her home in Lyle on May 6, 1999,
at the age of 76.
Mrs. Haddock was born October 10, 1922, in McGregor,
Minn., to Edward P. and Ruth (Young) Groh. She attended school in a rural
area and was the only person to have spent all 12 years at the same school.
On May 14, 1946, she married Bob Vorce. They moved to Washington in 1948.
Mr. Vorce died in 1989 and she married John Haddock on May 25, 1993.
Mrs. Haddock loved shooting pool and was known as a pool
shark. She also loved working in her flower garden and bowling.
Mrs. Haddock is survived by her husband, John Haddock,
Lyle; sisters Myra Pritchard and Margaret, both of Minnesota; daughters Charlene
Peterson, Vancouver, and Wenda Vorce, Stevenson; son Jerry Vorce, Portland;
stepdaughters Nora Foote, Battle Ground, Dora Daniels, Reedsport, Ore., and
Joyce Allen, Vancouver; stepson John Haddock, Oregon City, Ore.; numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Haddock were held May 11,
1999, at 2 p.m. at the Lyle Balch Cemetery, with Chaplain Stephen Lusk
officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, PO Box
36, Hood River, Ore. 97031.
Arrangements were made by Gardner Funeral Home, White
Salmon.
