EUGENE V. MINGUS

     Eugene V. Mingus was born in Joplin, Mo., Apr. 2, 1913 and died in the University Hospital in Portland, Apr.16, 1976. Mingus came west in 1918 with his family and went to school at Goldendale as far as the seventh grade. In that year his mother died (1925) and he moved to Boardman, Ore., where he lived with his uncle, Bob Mitchell, and finished his schooling. He worked on ranches most of his life in the sheep business until three years ago when he was forced to retire because, of ill health.
     He is survived by three sisters, Ruby Korthase, Lyle, Evelyn Christiansen, Belfair and Doris Sellers of Goldendale. One brother and one sister preceded him in death. Memorial services are pending.
