HOCTOR
Emmett Hoctor died Nov. 21 in Goldendale. He was 64.
Born June 10, 1924 near Goldendale to William and Zona
Hoctor, he attended schools here and later went to Gonzaga University in
Spokane.
He and Rose Marie Duffield were united in marriage on
Oct. 5, 1949 in Goldendale.
A lifelong farmer and avid hunter and fisherman, Mr.
Hoctor enjoyed the outdoors. He was a water dowser in the Goldendale area
for many years and raised registered quarterhorses. He was a member of the
Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, John, Dennis and Mark Hoctor,
all of Goldendale; two daughters, Mrs. Greg (Nancy) Johnson of Vancouver
and Sarah Hilton of Goldendale; his mother, Zona Hoctor of Goldendale; brothers
Charles Hoctor of Goldendale; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Willis and Mrs. Dorothy
Dressel, both of Goldendale. 13 grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie in February,
1975, and a son, Paul, who died in July, 1988.
Rosary services were Nov. 24 at Holy Trinity Catholic
Church. Mass of Christian burial was Nov. 25, with Father Thomas Lane of
the Holy Trinity Catholic Church serving as celebrant. Pallbearers included
Ray Willis, Terry Willis, Charlie Hoctor, Kenny Hoctor, Bill Dressel and
Danny Hoctor. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Thompson, Henry Garner, Dave
Davenport, Bill Dove, Marion Campbell and Marvin Morris.
Interment was in the family plot of Holy Trinity Cemetery,
under the direction of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home. Memorials may be made
to the American Cancer Society.
