ELLA MARTIN FUNERAL, CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
The funeral service for Ella W. Martin, was conducted
at the Bethel Congregational Church, Wednesday, Nov. 12, by the Rev. Frederick
H. Haag, assisted by the Rev. Lloyd Roholt of the Milwaukee, Oregon, Lutheran
Church. Burial was in the White Salmon Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born in Goldendale, Jan. 20, 1895, the
daughter of William Arthur Clark and Alice, nee Weld. She moved to Portland
with her parents in 1904 and had her schooling there.
In 1913, she married Ford Martin and moved to White Salmon.
They celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary last Dec. 2nd.
The Martins moved to Milwaukee in the late summer of
1974, where they have made their home since. For many years they owned a
cabin north of Trout Lake on the White Salmon River.
Mrs. Martin is survived by: her husband, Floyd; a daughter,
Mrs. Paul Kringelhede, of Milwaukee, Ore. Seven grandchildren and nine
great-grand children. A son, Warner, preceded her in death.
Long active in Bethel Church, Mrs. Martin was also a
long-time president or program chairperson of the White Salmon Women's Club.
Regularly each month for several years, she has provided imaginative tray
favors for the patients at Skyline Hospital.
