ELVA P. WOODRUFF
Lifelong Trout Lake resident Elva P. Woodruff died Jan.
1 at home. She was 99.
Mrs. Woodruff was born April 14, 1893 in Trout Lake to
Susie (Stoller) and Charles Pearson. The longest resident to live in Trout
Lake, Mrs. Pearson was commonly called "grandma" by residents.
She married Ralph E. Woodruff who died in 1955. She was
a member of the Presbyterian Church, an avid gardener, loved African Violets
and raised flowers. Her chocolate chip cookie recipe was famous throughout
the valley.
She is survived by her son, George Woodruff of Trout
Lake; daughter, Nancy Parrish of Trout Lake; brother George Pearson of Trout
Lake; grandchildren, Karen Woodruff, Diane Paxon, David Woodruff, Rollie
and Scott Parrish; 11 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Trout Lake Cemetery.
Contributions may be given to the Elva Woodruff Memorial
Scholarship Fund in care of Trout Lake High School.
Gardner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
