GILLIAM
Frances A. (Frank) Gilliam, 80, a Goldendale resident,
passed away on Thursday, January 22, 1993 as his home.
He was born on December 1, 1912 in Butler, Pennsylvania
to Matthias and Theresa Gilliam.
Frank and Patricia T. Morrow were married on June 30,
1937 in Washington, D.C.
Frank graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Columbia Technical
Institute in Washington, D.C.
Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War
II and spent the majority of his professional career as a Linotype supervisor
at the Government Printing Office.
After retirement the family moved to Goldendale in 1978.
Frank was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus,
V.F.W. and the American Legion, the Printing House Craftsman Club, the
International Typographical Union, the Goldendale Golf and Country Club,
the Laryngectomy Club of Pasco and the Toastmasters International.
Survivors include his wife Patricia of Goldendale; two
daughters, Patricia Bailey of Estacada and Mrs. David (Francine) Kincaid
of Bellingham. Three sisters; Theresa Martin of Landover, MD., Sister Anne
Gilliam of Pittsburgh, PA., and Margaret Tippy of Marysville, WA., Nine
grandchildren; Ron and Lisa Schaefer, Randy and Debi Schaefer, Terri Parker,
Chris and Jay Van Wingerdon and Cynthia and Rob Lee. Seven great grandchildren;
Danielle, Krista, Cody, Ashley and Erika Schaefer, Heather Brooke and Tyler
Van Wingerdon.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, January
25, 1993 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas V.
Lane and Fr. Seamus Kerr officiating. Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery
with military honors conducted by the Inspector-Instructor Staff, B. Company,
4th Tank Battalion of the U.S. Marine Corps. Pallbearers included Ron Schaefer,
Rob Lee, David Kinkaid, John Stagg, Jay Van Wingerdon, and Bob Marshall.
Arrangements were under the care of Erdman Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
