TWO GOLDENDALE CITIZENS PASS AWAY THIS WEEK

     Their deaths occurring within a few hours of each other, Frank B. Baker and Oscar C. Nelson passed away the first of the week, the former a short time before midnight Sunday night, and the latter at 4:30 o'clock Monday morning.
     Frank B. Baker came to Goldendale about 20 years ago, and became associated with his father in the merchandise business at Blockhouse. Later he secured the Ford agency with R.G. Bullack when cars where first coming into use, and started a garage in Goldendale, which he conducted successfully until he sold out about four years ago. He then devoted his time to wheat growing in the Spring Creek section, having acquired a considerable acreage there while and after he was in the garage business. He was born in Iowa in 1874, his death following a sickness of some duration. Mr. Baker leaves a widow and six children. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, from the Chapman chapel, Rev. S.C. Eshelman of Centerville, officiating. Interment was made in the Spring Creek cemetery.
    Oscar C. Nelson was born in Wisconsin in 1875, and was a local newspaper man for many years. He came to Goldendale with his parents when a small boy and started his newspaper work in the local newspaper offices. He became connected with the publication of different local papers, and published the Bickelton News for a time. In 1910 he started The Independent here, which he disposed of a few years later. Before his sickness, which was of long duration, he engaged in the real estate business here. His widow, a step-daughter, three sisters and a brother survive.
     Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock, from the Chapman chapel, M. L. Sanders officiating.
