DEATH IS BLAMED ON HEART ATTACK
Floyd E. Geer, 72, was found dead of an apparent heart
attack in his Ridgefield home Monday, the Clark County sheriff's office
reported.
Deputies said the elderly bachelor was discovered by
Ruth L. Fry, 13, a next door neighbor. The girl said she saw Geer's cat
scratching at a window from the inside and went into the house to investigate.
She found Geer stretched out on the kitchen floor.
The girl ran to a nearby service station and the attendent,
Merlin Hawkins, telephoned the sheriff's office at 5:26 p.m. Clark County
Coroner Paul Mylan was summoned and the body was removed to Hamilton's Funeral
Home in Vancouver, deputies reported.

BURIAL SERVICES HELD FOR F. GEER
Burial rites were held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery
Thursday for Floyd Geer, 72, an employee of the railroad at Wishram for over
30 years. Since his retirement, he had lived alone at Ridgefied, Washington.
Services were also held at Phillips Funeral Chapel.
Geer is presumed to have died October 17, but his body
was not found until six days later. An autopsy indicated ruptured blood vessel
in the brain as cause of death. A cat locked in the house with Geer eventually
attracted the attention of a small girl, she notified her parents, and the
body was discovered.
Geer is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donna Cochran

Germany; a son, Minfred Geer of Goldendale; and two sisters, Mrs. S.C. Hamblen
