FRED E. NIDAY
Fred E. "Buck" Niday, a Trout Lake resident since 1985,
died of cancer Dec. 4, 1986, in White Salmon at the age of 66.
He was born Dec. 10, 1919 to Fred C. and Elvira (Miller)
Niday in West Virginia. He grew up in Rio Grand, Ohio, then came west to
Vancouver, Wash., as a teenager. During World War II, Mr. Niday enlisted
and served in the Army Air Corps. He married Ruby J. McClanahan in Vancouver
in 1950. The couple moved to Palo Alto, Calif., in 1953, where he worked
as a scheduler for a printing business. In 1985, they retired to Trout Lake,
Mr. Niday loved to hunt.
He is survived by his wife Ruby, Trout Lake; children
Alice Standridge of Conyers, Ga., Fred L. of Trout Lake, and Cindy and Cheryl
of Mt. View, Calif.; brothers, Jim of LaPine, Ore., Bill of Vancouver, Wash.,
and Bob of Colton, Ore.; sister Betty Marshall of Trout Lake; and eight
grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mr. Niday were held Monday at
the Trout Lake Cemetery, with Rev. Dan Baldwin officiating. Interment followed
the services. Arrangements were made by Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon.
