FRANCIS VAUGHAN
Francis E. "Gene" Vaughan, a longtime BZ Corners resident,
died at his home Dec. 19. He was 77.
He was born June 11, 1911 in Velva, North Dakota to William
Wallace Vaughan and Frances (Jenkins) Vaughan. He married Mary Leavy there
in 1933. They moved to this area in 1945, and he was a logging truck driver
until his retirement in 1974. He loved to read.
Mr. Vaughan is survived by his wife Mary, at home; two
sons, Larry Vaughan, also of BZ Corners, and John William Vaughan of Vancouver;
a daughter, Mary Kathleen Huffsmith of Trout Lake; and two brothers, Jack
Vaughan of California and Kenneth Vaughan of Milton-Freewater, Ore. He is
also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
No services were held. Gardner Funeral home was in charge of
the arrangements.
