FRANK F. JAEKEL, PIONEER, PASSES
Frank F. Jaekel, one of this county's oldest pioneers
passed away Saturday, February 6 at North Bonneville where he had resided
for the past 15 years. Services were held from the Phillips Funeral Home
Wednesday, February 10, with the Rev. Albert Heard of the First Baptist Church
officiating. Interment was made in the Centerville Grange Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Lemoin Eshelman, Bud Ritzschke, Henry Miller, Lyle Tobin, August Jaekel
and Keith Kayser.
The deceased was born in Centerville in 1879, the son
of John and Christina Jaekel. Survivors include three brothers, Albert of
Maryhill, Jim of Goldendale and John of Wishram; two sisters, Mrs. Jim McQueen
of Ellensburg and Mrs. Ida McGilll, a resident in California.
Frank was engaged in the sheep and farming business until
about 20 years ago when sickness that caused him to be an invalid forced
his retirement.
