TROUT LAKE MAN KILLED MONDAY WHEN TRUCK UPSETS
Accident occurred in Portland. Brother driving truck.
Funeral today at Trout Lake.
Fred Elmer, 49, of Trout Lake, Washington, was injured
fatally Monday night when the light delivery truck in which he was riding
upset and rolled over five times on N.E. Sandy boulevard near 138th avenue,
reported Tuesday's Oregonian. According
to the information given, Deputy Sheriffs Virgil Weckert and Ronald Callbeck,
the truck was driven by the victim's brother, William A. Elmer, of route
2, Troutdale.
Edwin Mann, York Hotel, who was traveling in the same
direction, told officers the truck driver attempted to pass his machine then
abruptly swung back, the delivery vehicle upsetting and rolling over a number
of times before halting on the opposite side of the highway.
Fred Elmer was taken to Portland sanitarium but was dead
on arrival there.
The funeral will be held this Friday afternoon at the
Trout Lake presbyterian church. Deceased is survived by his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. A. Elmer, of Trout Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Hill, of White
Salmon, four brothers and four sisters.

TROUT LAKE MAN IS KILLED IN PORTLAND
Fred Elmer, 49, of Trout Lake, was fatally injured Monday
night in Portland when the light delivery truck in which he was riding upset
and rolled over five times.
The truck was driven by the victim's brother, William
A. Elmer of Troutdale, Ore. The truck had attempted to pass another machine
then abruptly swung back, upsetting and rolling over a number of times before
halting on the opposite side of the highway.
Mr. Elmer was taken to the Portland Sanitarium but was
dead on arrival. His brother was held for investigation by the district
attorney's office.
