FILMER JOHN WILSON
Filmer John Wilson, former Centerville resident, was
born November 18, 1903, in Montana and died August 24, 1972, at Troutdale,
Or.
Wilson moved to the Centerville area as a young boy.
He farmed in this area until 1949 when he moved to Portland as a foreman
for the Hazelwood Water District. He retired from that position in 1961 and
continued to work as a caretaker for the Merritt Equipment Company, Portland,
retiring in 1971.
Survivors include four children: Eugene W. Wilson and
Franklin H. Wilson, both Portland; Beverly M. Stowell, Sacramento; and Shirley
A. Corcoran, Olympia; eight grandchildren, and two brothers, Willie Wilson
and Wesley Wilson, both Portland.
Funeral services and interment were held Tuesday, August
29, at the graveside in the Centerville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were
under the direction of Gable Funeral Home, Portland.
