FLORENCE BARTHOLOMEW
Florence Lois Bartholomew, a White Salmon native, died
at her home in The Dalles, Ore., on March 22, 2001, at the age of 95.
Mrs. Bartholomew was born on Feb. 11, 1906, in White
Salmon, the oldest of four children to William Alvin and Lidda Lou (Crow)
Biesanz. She grew up and graduated from high school in White Salmon.
She married Alba Cole Bartholomew on June 12, 1925. They
lived in Bingen until moving to Wishram in 1952, then late in the mid 1970s
to Dallesport. In 1994, they moved and became the first residents of Flagstone
Retirement Center in The Dalles, Ore.
Mrs. Bartholomew was a homemaker, an accomplished pianist
and member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed writing for the Klickitat County
Ruralite newspaper, corresponding with friends, and the outdoors.
Survivors include her sons Alba D. Bartholomew, Vancouver,
and Basil D. Bartholomew, Lyle, grandchildren Alba R. Bartholomew, White
Salmon, Regene Rafeison, Hood River, Shawna L. Crane, Eugene, Ore., and Dennis
B. Bartholomew, Weippe, Idaho; and her brother Wayman Biesanz, Carson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alba in September
1994; son Dennis in 1960; granddaughter Kay Babb in February 2001; and brothers
Meryl and Nolan Biesanz.
Private family services will be held at a later date
at Trout Lake Cemetery.
Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory
with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Florence Lois Bartholomew, 95, resident of The
