FOREST HEWETT, 74, VICTIM OF HEART SEIZURE ON HUNT
LYLE (Special) -- The Lyle community was shocked and
saddened by the sudden death of Forest Hewett, 74, who passed away Saturday
from a heart attack while on an elk hunting trip in Yakima County.
He was accompanied on the trip by his son, Kenneth Hewett;
son-in-law, Ottis Shields; a nephew, Frank Hewett; and Frank Sauter, all
of Lyle. They were packing for the trip home when Mr. Hewett was seized with
the attack. He was born at Lyle and lived all his life in Klickitat County.
An ambulance from Yakima brought the body to Gardner's
Funeral Home in White Salmon.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lula Hewett; son, Kenneth
Hewett; daughter, Mrs. Alta Shields; three grandchildren and other relatives
and a host of friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Hewett would have celebrated their 50th
Wedding Anniversary December 10. Funeral services will be held Thursday at
the Lyle Grange hall.
Born September 28, 1881, in Lyle, Mr. Hewett was a carpenter
and then farmed in the Lyle area for many years.
Services will be given by Rev. James Duffey of the
Congregational Church of White Salmon. Interment will follow at the Lyle
Cemetery under the auspices of Columbia Grange No. 87 of Lyle.
