FRANK L. TURNER
Former minister and retired U.S. Forest Service worker
Frank Leroy Turner, 53, of White Salmon, died Jan. 17 here of a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 20, at Gardner
Funeral home, with Rev. Don Baldwin officiating. Cremation followed by private
family interment was held at Trout Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Turner was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Siloam Springs,
Ark., to Selma (Johnson) and Harry Turner. He moved to Trout Lake as a child.
He served this area and the Stevenson-Carson area as
a minister until 1966. Mr. Turner worked for the Forest Service, until his
retirement in 1986. He married Janet Springs in 1976. The last four years
he was a salesman in real estate for Century 21.
Mr. Turner was a member of the Washington State Grange.
He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He built a log home and enjoyed farming.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, of White Salmon; mother,
Selma Turner of Hood River; sons Ron Turner of Underwood, Eugene Turner of
Dallesport, Ray Turner of Gresham, Ore., Joel Turner of White Salmon, and
Nathan Turner of White Salmon; brother Don Turner of Beaverton, Ore.; and
one granddaughter.
