RITES READ FOR MRS. STURTEVANT

     Funeral services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Annie Marilla Sturtevant, who had lived in the Underwood area for over 60 years and who died Saturday, July 6 at the age of 85.
     Mrs. Sturtevant passed away at The Dalles General Hospital.
     She was born Christmas Day, December 25, 1888 in Michigan, the daughter of Tom and Emma Fisher. She was married July 5, 1905 in Muskegan, Michigan to Claude Lyman Sturtevant and the couple came to Washington in 1909 living for a short time in Goldendale and then moving to Underwood.
     Mr. Sturtevant helped build the dam at Northwestern Lake on the White Salmon River and continued to work for the power company for many years. He passed away in October, 1969.
     Mrs. Sturtevant is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Mast of Roseburg, a granddaughter, Claudia Dalebout, also of Roseburg, a brother Tom Fisher of Ravenna, Michigan; a half-brother, Joe Mansfield, also of Ravenna, and three great grandchildren.
     Services were held at Gardner's Chapel in White Salmon with the Rev. Calvin Moore officiating. Interment followed at the pioneer Chris-Zada cemetery at Underwood.
     Casket bearers were Paul Newell, Pete Grove, Robert Morby, Tom Wedrick, Clarence Johnson and Sam Dalebout.

MRS. STURTEVANT SERVICES HELD ON JULY 10TH

     Fannie Marilla Sturtevant, resident of Underwood, Washington, passed away at The Dalles General Hospital on July 7th at the age of 85 years. She was born to Emma and Tom Fisher on December 25th, 1888 in Michigan.
     On July 5th, 1905 at Muskegon, Michigan, she was married to Claude Lyman Sturtevant. They came to Washington in about 1909 and after a short stay in Goldendale, settled at Underwood. Mr. Sturtevant helped with the construction of the Northwestern Electric Co. Dam on the White Salmon River several years later and had been employed for a period of twenty-five years with the power company, later known at P.P. & L. He passed away in 1969.
     Surviving are a daughter: Dorothy Mast (Mrs. Richard Mast) of Roseburg, Oregon; one granddaughter, Claudia Dalebout of Roseburg, Oregon; three great-grandchildren; Tracey, Byron, and Kimberly Dalebout; one brother: Tom Fisher of Ravenna, Michigan; and a half-brother, Joe Mansfield, also of Ravenna, Michigan.
     Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 10th, 2 p.m. at Gardner's Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Moore of the United Methodist Church of White Salmon officiating. Interment was in Chris-Zada Cemetery, Underwood, Washington.
