FRANK O. WITIKKA RITES WEDNESDAY
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon and at
Phillips Chapel for Frank O. Witikka, 77, who passed away Saturday. Officiating
minister was Robert Daniel of the Centerville Church of Christ, and interment
followed in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.
Pallbearers at the rites were Arthur Basse, Wilbert Crocker,
William Olson, Otis Anderson, Albin Wiidanen and Arnold Hoikka.
Mr. Witikka was born March 6, 1888 in Centerville, the
son of John and Mary Witikka. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran
Church in Centerville, and grew to manhood in the Goldendale area.
In 1939, he was married to Matilda Rein, and soon after
moved into the Lyle area, where he was engaged in farming until 1935 when
he and his wife settled in Centerville. He lived there until his death; his
wife passed away in 1947.
Surviving are a brother, Albert, in Wyoming; a brother
sister, Mrs. Minnie Anderson of Hadlock, Wash.; two stepsons, Rainer Rein
of Battleground, Wash.; and Vernon Rein of Sparks, Nev. Numerous nieces and
nephews, including Mrs. John Kahkonen of Centerville, also survive.
